We Dropped It!

Don’t listen to these people this show is amazing, people don’t seem to understand that just because a character says something in a show doesn’t mean the creator, writers, or actors mean what they said. When Pierce says something racist in the show the joke is making fun of racist people. Anyway I also saw that a lot of people watched a few episodes and just decided it was bad, think of a sitcom you enjoy... the first few episodes aren’t always that good. It takes time for a show to get its footing and Community does this later in season 1. This show is 5 stars

Ok let’s get something straight, I’m not one of those people to hate on something just because it’s popular and this is all subjective and my opinion doesn’t mean you should feel the same way as me but I think this show is overrated. It just always is the same joke, it’s just “this person is doing something weird” and Jim reacts to it in a sarcastic and snarky way. It is inconsistent in quality, after two or three times watching it the characters became repulsive and externally annoying (Pam, Nellie, Andy) It just honestly feels basic compared to other shows I’m all ways like Parks and rec, Arrested Development, new girl and especially Community. My favorite character in the show is Dwight and in the later seasons his character is turned so weird with the stupid sex contract with Angela. This happens with many characters like Jim and Pam in season 9 and many others in smaller ways. I know this show doesn’t have deep characters, and hardly any of them seemed to be flawed in a way that service the plot, but when they change character traits of large characters it’s just annoying. I love it when shows have weird or funny things happen in them but the stay grounded in the show already established reality. A great example of when the office does something that makes you feel like it’s stepping out of reality is when in season 9 Dwight goes up on the tight rope and rides on the bike. I know this whole show, like I said, is one of the characters does something or says something that’s funny but seriously for how this show started out to now you could tell that the show had changed and not for the better. I think with shows that don’t really have an established reality, like community for its multiple homage episodes, it is easier to do something like the tight rope scene but with a basic show that seems to be grounded in our reality and not some more elaborate reality where things like this happen all the time, it takes you out of reality and makes the show just seem odd. One last thing is that I would give it more credit if it were funnier. I in do not thing it is the masterful work of comedy that everybody says it is. I laugh maybe 5 times an episode which is low. It is not witty, it has some sly jokes but that is normally when Michael is talking about something something and he either says something wrong or says something that is obvious but he is too dumb to figure out. OVERATED!!!
