SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW!!!: Personally, this book was far too long with agonising paragraphs of meaningless thoughts of the characters. Many things confused me and many plot lines were dropped throughout. I was left with too many questions of the story when i had finished. What happened to Willy? What happened to Big Mike? If Dickie did shoot Cas and PJ, how does Imelda react? What happens with Richard? Does he get the money? Does big mike kill him or does he kill big mike??? PJ never turns off the tracker on his phone showing the pedophile where he is, so why wasn’t he followed??? These and many more questions. I don’t except to be spoon fed information, but actually knowing where some plot lines which take up whole chapters end up would be nice when you devote your time to reading. It wasn’t completely bad. I enjoyed the first part of the book where you focus on Cas and her life, however that part being so long and focused on her led me to believe the rest of the characters would have as much attention, which they don’t. Also the time this book is set in can be confusing sometimes. For example, mentions of using social media and texting in a way that I know just didn't exist. Cas and PJ’s relationship also annoyed me. They are too stereotypical brother sister and don’t feel like real people. Cas’ arch with Elaine also annoys me. It’s so obvious that Cas while thinking she is in love with Elaine, does actually hate her. But the author seems to take it back last minute by saying that Cas really hates herself? Every page had me hoping the next would wrap up a plot line, or finally finish some long convoluted explanation with a final sentence. However that never happens in this book. Overall, I feel as if I wasted my time. The ending was unrewarding and too quick with silly flashbacks thrown in that just leave you feeling “God can we get this over with”.
