So I started reading the books and Afghanistan in 2009. I watched the movies and was not impressed as they had no accuracy to the books. When I heard Disney was going to do a show and that Rick was gonna be involved. I was super excited while I understand some of the changes to kind of speed up the story the ones that got me to only do a three star review. With the ones at the end of the season. One the deadline was crucial because Zeus does not play. Two the fact they found the lightning bolt at the pit of Tartarus really overshadowed some of the parts of the book. I wasn’t a huge fan of how they did Hades because in the book it says he was the only one of the god’s Percy had met that looked like a god in the show he’s wearing a smoking jacket and getting ready for cocktail hour. third was the interaction with Zeus and his father. This is a key part of the book in which Percy realizes that as a hero. He’s not gonna have a good relationship with his father, but that’s OK. You totally missed out on Gabe‘s demise all in all the show is decent for what it is, but had I seen it before reading the books I would’ve never picked them up
