Like the movie it's fun, whimsical, doesn't take itself too seriously, but with nice darker elements. I also really like the more old school designs and practical makeup and effects, for the type of show it is it has surprisingly good cinematography, mood, costume and set buildings. I'm not crazy about the script and I'm not a huge fan of some of the characters but I didn't like all the characters in the movie either.
All the bad reviews so far are just from conservative homophobes which is very sad to see. "don't watch it if you have any moral decency" "I'm not mad that they're gay, I hate that it's forced with no backstory"(but they make no comment on the literal first scene of Arik is with him making out with someone. Why no "Ugh! Why is he making out with a woman without any backstory! So forced!) And the usual"it's so politically woke!" Because of there's gay characters in it.
I hate most modern shows, especially fantasy and sci fi, I'm very cynical and critical so I'm very pleased that it's an easy and fun show to watch and oh my days Boorman is 👌
