I thought the show was very funny. Watched all episodes back to back. Like the comedic chemistry between the two cousins. Looking forward to future episodes.
I am not a fan of a lot of cussing in shows. But for the most part the words fit for the characters that remind you of some folks in the neighborhood you grew up with or some folks in your own family. Hopefully, some of the language is tempered in future episodes.
The confederate objects and pictures from that era are disturbing. They need to find a way to remove those objects from the Lt. Governor’s home. It’s hard to believe any self respecting black person would acquiesce to keeping such triggering objects in their home. They need to find a way to work in a remodel, put those items in storage or allow the place to burn down.
It’s clearly understood after the first episode that this all takes place in Mississippi. So the confederate relics being in the home are no longer funny after the initial move in episodes.
The main character’s kids’ roles are not comedic and after several episodes, the mother and cousin’s boyfriend’s purpose begins to wane.
It did take way too long for the main character to quell the dismissiveness of the racist governor and his racist peons.
Not enough emphasis stated by the main character that she was ELECTED and not merely existing as the subordinate or surrogate to the Governor.
