The trick to enjoying any Blumhouse movie is to go in with Low or No expectations! If you expect it to bad you won’t get disappointed… This movie was completely unoriginal, but it also provides the jumpscares you’d expect. The characters are weak, with little to no development and the emotional connection between the husband and wife feels awkward and fake. If you’ve seen the trailers, you’ve seen pretty much all the most exciting parts. I can’t really recommend this movie as a “good” way to entertain, but it’s suitable for background noise or just as a way to pass the time.

My wife selected this movie so I went in blind, not knowing anything about it. When I saw MBJ jr’s name in the opening credits, I immediately had hope. This movie did not disappoint! Set in the Jim Crow-era south, it’s a vampire horror movie. MBJ plays two roles as his own twin, which made me wonder, did he get double the pay? 🤔 I hope he did, because he was worth every penny! There’s not a lot of gore, it’s a pretty straightforward horror flick, so if that’s your thing, you’ll like this movie, I loved that the movie remembered itself and knew it was a horror movie and didn’t spend the entire time trying to preach a political message, If you like horror, like vampires, watch this movie! It’s pure entertainment 🤘🏼
