I love this anime and can't wait for the season two premiere April 3! Every aspect of the creative is great. All of the characters' personalities, backstories, and motivations are well evolved and complement each other. The story lines are compelling in every episode. The voice acting is superb. The animation -- both the backgrounds and the characters themselves -- are exceptionally well rendered. In anime, one of these aspects can significantly distract from overall enjoyment. Even the score is great. The opening credits theme song, "Zettai Reidofanta" by Natori, is in my playlist. There's a bit of a (giant) hole in the story: How can there be a high school with no teachers or administrators, no coursework, and no grades?! Even in a reform school, I doubt that the students run the school with no adults around. In anime, it seems as though high school is the only place in Japan where anything actually happens. Otherwise, stuff takes place on other planets or in the spirit world. But who cares?! We know that what they're actually studying is fighting and becoming well adjusted men. The messages about the importance of friendship and cameraderie are wonderful. I'm not usually into fighting anime, but this is now my favorite.
