A visually stunning movie, but too violent/ brutal for comfort
I watched this movie because I’m a fan of Mohanlal and really like Prithviraj’s work. However, I felt deeply disappointed with the overall experience.
I usually don’t write reviews, but I felt compelled this time—mainly because I’m genuinely concerned about the growing trend of extreme violence and brutality creeping into Malayalam cinema. The level of cruelty shown in this film was far too intense, and sadly, I ended up watching it with my kids—something I deeply regret.
What we consume has an impact on how we think and behave. When entertainment is saturated with hatred and violence, it can desensitize us and influence society in subtle but harmful ways. I understand the need for drama and intensity—it’s the spice that makes a dish flavorful. But in this case, while the film boasts great visuals and impressive screenplay, the “spice” (read: violence and hatred) was overwhelming.
For someone like me who enjoys meaningful cinema and is sensitive to excessive brutality, this movie was hard to digest. The dish looked great, but it was all extra spice and little substance for the heart.
If you're a Prithviraj fan, go ahead and buy the ticket—but I’d still say, don’t watch it. Save your peace of mind and choose something more uplifting or balanced.
