One of the most amazing books I have ever read (and I read a lot!). I just adored this book and tried to read it slowly to put off finishing it as I didn't want it to ever end. It is so beautifully written, Matilda has such an enchanting way with words and descriptions, a real wordsmith. The story brought this myth to life for me and made it relatable to modern times as well as anchoring it back into the past. The complexity of relationships were so sensitively described and portrayed. I was astounded that this is a debut novel due to the skill and quality of the writing and story telling. I hope to see more from this author. I couldn't recommend this book more highly, I truly loved it.
