"Days after my return I had a birthday. September 15, 1997. I turned thirteen..."
"... I tore at the wrapping paper, the ribbon. I peered inside. 'Mummy bought it for you. Shortly before...' It was an Xbox. I was pleased. I loved video games."
This can't be true — Xbox didn't launch until November 2001, with the European release March of 2002. This is just the “snip of the tip” (wink wink to those who have read it) no one fact checked this thing including the one who wrote it. His memory has been rewritten and I genuinely question by whom. When has a man ever referred to a chain around his neck as a necklace?? He mentions never reading books but then makes references as if he’s well read. I realize there was a ghost writer— but come on! Too many cringe worthy contradictions. Buy it. Don’t buy it. In a week the news cycle will have moved on and this couple will still be trying to convince us they’re victims. No wonder the family didn’t want him there at the time of the Queen’s passing! At the end you are left thinking — If this is it? His brother pushed him down. A stupid text that clearly felt dry and edited. His unhealthy idle worship of his wife. His anger for the British tabloids. This wasn’t shocking. I’ve heard worse rumors surrounding his wife’s pregnancy (surrogacy) and the planting of stories from Sussex base camp that were far more juicier. None of that was addressed— of course not.
My fear is MM is currently working on her “novel “. 🙄 I want to get off this ride.
