I am into season 2 and I really want to love this show but a few things are standing in my way. The plot is clunky and slow, and the animation is lazy. There should be more frames and the backgrounds are blah. Also the secondary characters seem forced, like the writers are trying for nuance where there doesn't need to be any. However some details are great, like the ginger prisoner's beard growing. The main characters are well-characterized. The dragon egg hatching was amazing! I love the baby dragon and how each creature is unique.
