The show starts off really strong — the first few episodes, maybe even the entire first season, are excellent (hence the 5 stars). You’re drawn into the unknown, and the possibilities feel exciting and full of promise.
However, as the series goes on, the quality noticeably declines. For example:
-- The invasion itself which is supposedly the core event is often overshadowed by personal drama.
-- Which leads to the next issue: there’s way too much personal drama.
-- Which is also caused by : too many storylines.
-- Too many filler episodes that don’t advance the story.
-- Many characters act illogically.
---- A husband trying to escape his family responsibilities in the most bizarre ways.
---- A certain female character becomes increasingly over-the-top starting in season 2 eventually even gaslighting her husband when he tries to protect their family.
---- Military captains bringing teenagers on missions (no sense of protocol or safety), and sometimes letting civilians or self-proclaimed guerrillas take charge.
-- Cults. Need I say more
The Eternaut which seems lower budget seems is still a better show.
I blame myself for having expectations.
Good watch. Lol.
