I have loved Superman since my Mom first sat me down to show me that a man can fly. Christopher Reeve, for me, is the GOAT. Which means I always go into a Superman movie or TV show with an open mind. I think of it like the comic books. Each one is its own world.
This movie though, just had the right kind of special. It was uplifting, and heartwarming, and you find yourself crying because Director James Gunn made you believe in Superman once again.
David Cromswet was a perfect mix of empathy, kindness, wittiness and smarts. He portrayed Superman's intuition, his flaws, his humanity so perfectly. He made him relatable and gave us back the Hope we had lost somewhere along the way.
Nicholas Hoult. My goodness. If there ever was a Lex Luthor, he just embodied him. The envy, the anger, the cruelty. It was all there. Well done, Mr. Hoult.
Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane was perfection. She's a total bada**, for lack of a better term. She was smart and she was strong, because you have to be when you're always protecting our hero.
And what can I say about Krypto? Only that he will be loved all over the world.
This movie brought hope into the hearts of many. Needless to say that my heart is enjoying all the love Superman is getting, because it's been a long time coming.
And although this movie may not be perfect to some, you can't deny that he is exactly what we needed our Big Blue Boy Scout to be.
