Xyliar Longwood

The animation is okay but I really sincerely hope studio ghibli isn’t going to keep making movies with cgi, as much as I do think this movie looks fine I don’t think it will ever even come close to the beauty of studio ghilbli’s 2D animation. I really hope they make the next movie in 2D. Also I can’t blame the studio much for the story but it was extremely slow and boring, I heard it was pretty true to the book, and no hate if you like more slice of life stuff but with all the magic talk being tossed around I guess I felt like I was waiting for something exciting to happen and it never really did… I honestly really like slice of life stories myself and I think that’s something studio ghibli usually tackles very well but idk maybe there was just too much being grounded in reality for this movie or something? I just finished it feeling like I watched a very very long filler episode of a Netflix produced anime or just the main characters back story and then it was done. Overall it was kinda pretty but disappointing.
