I love the fact that Oprah wanted to recreate the 1985 Movie but a lot of key parts that were left out that made the original Alice walker book to movie were not placed in the movie.. examples the "Shug Avery" scence when she walk to the church singing"GOD IS TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING" and reach her "PA" and the infamous "SINNERS HAVE SOUL TOO"!!!!! When Ms. Millie couldn't drive, at the table when Sophia came home, Along with many others...Sophia & Mister could have been casted differently as well...in my view could have been better
