Overall it's an ok film.
There's some menacing looking characters that might scare some of the younger kids, there's a basic plot with some unmemorable characters, the messages of believing in yourself and your powers, and that of "good triumphing over evil". My goddaughter (9 years old) was entertained but I found myself wondering on some choices at times.
*spoiler alert*
What bothered me the most were:
- the background music. It felt as it was constantly the same, without any variation between scenes of fight or sadness - apart from the final battle.
- the choice to show the little mouse puking after flying. Could have gone with the dizzy / sea-legs route, still convey the message, and be less disgusting.
- My goddaughter mentioned she was disturbed by the poison leaving the persons body as a smoke-caught-in-a-bubble from their mouth.
