It seems like some people who wrote reviews didn’t actually watch the show. I thought it was a pretty good series overall, though the writing could have been stronger. Most of the acting was solid. Some people criticized Kris, but I think she handled herself well, especially given how many difficult people she had to deal with. I liked Kris and Junior as a couple, but what kind of boyfriend betrays his girlfriend by stealing her jockey? He should have just told his father, "No, I’m not doing it." Then there’s Matt, who manipulates Kris simply because she doesn't want to be with him. Matt was terrible in every way, even the way he talked to his mother. She should have slapped the crap out of him several times. Jean, on the other hand, blames Kris for everything, including her own son’s mistakes. She tries to control Kris's life but lets Kerry take advantage of her. And Pablo is the ultimate jerk, acting like he owns Kris just because he brought her to the ranch. If i was kris, pablo and jean would have never been back in my life after kicking her out and treating her like they did. So, what she did a match race. To the reviewer who asked why the family would listen to someone like Kris: it's because she had the most sense and, together with Wildfire, brought the ranch back to life. Almost every decision Jean made was a disaster, and Kris had to contend with some of the biggest jerks on the show. What really disappointed me was how the writers turned Kris into a weak character after the first season. Initially, she was the tough girl from Oakland, which was refreshing. If the writing had been better, I believe the show could have lasted longer. I rewrote the story for myself and it's much better.
