Wow! I search on one of one of my favorite movies and my name appears! I have looked up many movies, without this. I particularly liked the performances of Fredric March and Harold Russel, and shoot, so was Dana Andrews, and Teresa Wright is always enjoyable to see. Andrews's wife was so brassy and without a clue her husband had changed. It is so riveting, I never realized it is almost three hours long. This is a masterful study of human nature. The frustration and distress of the vets is so relevant today, and will always be. If I could only get my sons to watch a black and white movie, I would be so gratified, as I feel this movie is right up there as one of the best ever made. It was well worthy of the seven Academy Awards.
