I watched the original documentary in 2015. I was appalled and heart broken over the actions of the NYPD and what those young men had to endure. But I tonight I watched "When They See Us", seeing what they went through and how they were treated with my own eyes instead of hearing about it Angered me beyond belief. Due to this situation and the West Memphis 3 story, I had to explain to my 13 year-old daughter what to do if for some reason she is brought in for questioning regarding something she didn't do. I explained she is to immediately ask for a lawyer and her parent. It's a shame that us as parent's even have to worry about that along with everything else we worry about when it comes to our children. I pray often for these men and hope they are able to live long and successful lives filled with happiness. That they can at some point get past the emotional and mental torture they must go through daily.
