This was a car accident that you couldn't look away from. First, I slowed down to look...it was involuntary, human nature. But, as I actually witnessed the carnage, how truly bad it was, I hit the gas pedal just to get it in my rear view mirror. I got past it, but barely. (I lost power and Internet so I went on a reading binge. Otherwise, I doubt I would have finished.)
I know nothing of Logic other than this book. And I give him credit for inspiring his fans to read. I hope that they continue. I would suggest Palahniuk's Fight Club or King's The Dark Half for starters. Books that were an extremely obvious inspiration.
This would be an excellent first novel for an 8th grader and also one that should have been left in a drawer, as a learning experience. I cannot understand why his management, let alone the publisher...why they would let a seemingly popular artist put this out.
It's honestly one of the worst books I have ever read. If you enjoyed it, great. Continue to explore other writers. They will blow you away. If you are even as casual reader, run from this. I debate whether to burn my copy of this book to spare others from the brutal assault upon the literacy arts or keep it as a totem of the horrendous.
