I watched this movie at the time of its release, and had cried bitterly that time. The same happened when I re-watched it yesterday.
Some people may have this preconception of it being a typical Bollywood romance, but I found it to be quite different from them. You may complain that the actress cries too much, but hey, it's the plot that makes her do that and all the scenes look perfectly placed. There's no over-acting.
Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane have acted beautifully - so beautifully that you don't think they are 'acting' - it all feels so real. The storyline is well formed and doesn't deviate. Neither are there any miracles at the end. When the film makers say that it's a love story with a curse - they make sure it is portrayed 100% . I am not sure why this movie didn't receive the popularity it should have. I just love it.
Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru surely have a knack for portraying things beautifully. [With just one exception : the story of the new version of Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi - I find everything about that song cringe-worthy].
You might want to watch the short film 'Khamakha', which is this director duo's another beautiful work. And yes, you'll also see Harshvardhan in it.
Thanks to the team that pulled off Sanam Teri Kasam so beautifully. Harsh, you got a lifetime fan in me. Lots of love.
