When I watched this movie for the second time, I felt that it was a sensitive portrayal if an Indian.There is no racism as claimed.Most of the mishaps are actually caused by others and not by Bakshi .It is certainly more serious and better than Clouseau with his funny accent.Those movies are of course more entertaining.Peter Sellers at his best.

Reminds me of Crime and Punishment.At first I thought that there was an anti- brahmin slant, but surprisingly there was not.A class- clash, in a rather old- fashioned sterotypical way.But carries the audience with it, creating sympathy for the anti- hero.The father character was very good.

The movie, while glossing over some incidents, brought out the essential personality of Field Marshal Manekshaw.The facial features and expressions of the actor were uncannily like that of the original.A must- watch movie, in my opinion
