Had large expectations with the hoopla, high ratings and the greats Martin and Short. There is some charm here and there as expected with aging comedic geniuses, and the peeks inside the stately megabucks NY condo buildings and lifestyle are interesting. Gomez's eye candy addition is fine, though the understated character persona wears thin and reveals that her acting abilities would not allow much more dimension than that anyway. Implausibility in a plot by itself is not necessarily a showstopper but when the humor in a comedy or the intrigue or acting levels in a drama, etc., are not high, it can be a bit weary. There was a moment in the third episode where my wife and I were getting a bit telepathic about who was going to mention it first. I was just about to bring it up but she beat me to it and we instantly agreed it was time to try something else. Neither of us has a clue about why the critics and the audience ratings are as high as they seem to be, and most of the time we are in synch with Rotten Tomatoes scores
