For a movie about a giant of the music scene I was disappointed with the music score - especially the tracks during the subway scenes - This definitely is not one of Denzel’s best movies. Seems as if once they signed him on there was little left in the budget to cast talented supporting actors. The characters lacked depth and the actress playing the wife was completely unconvincing. The singer auditioning at the end was particularly unremarkable.
