Neckbeard mouth breathers and people who haven't played it are review bombing because it's 'too woke' and they have some weird homophobia - heres my review from someone who is currently playing it ( as a male rouge ) will update when done.
While the game itself itself is absolutely breathtaking, the common upset point is combat. It's indeed wonky here and there, not exactly feeling like dragon age combat rather more like mass effect. You no longer can micromanage either which puts a damper on the fact you only are allowed two party members. You are only allowed three/four of your main abilities where as in the last DA games you're given a wheel of basically 8.
Another common area of issue is character background, they make the game geared towards warrior Rooks ( Your Character ). These enemies are fully aggro towards you, VERY rarely are they ever aggro towards your party. Whom seem to be immortal, Ive played at the least rn 20 hours and no one has died. Which leads to the next point, you die much easier. Compared to your companions you are a squishy skin sack. When you die it's game defeat and you start at your last save. It no longer allows you to play your companions.
My personal issue is character creation ; again it's geared towards your character being mostly ambiguously gendered. Which isn't an issue but with as big of a character creation as they give you would believe you can create a character with a bigger chest for the bigger chested women out there. We have a slider for a bigger bulge and top surgery scars but boobs is where the line is made. Lip shape can't be changed. Height is a joke. It makes it seem like they wanted your character another way which goes back to your Room is geared to be something else than what you want. I
I believe if they wanted Rook to be a certain way they should have the character intended for us to play aka Warrior. I've played every Dragon Age game since they came out and this has been bittersweet, never been disappointed in dragon age for anything so being disappointed in the combat to the extent I have is hard.
I'm not going to review bomb and leave it at a 4 star because it's been a good game so far but I really HATE the combat. Everything else can be over looked for me. My only issue is that rn. I'll be back in a few days to update my review.
