Hi, life-long Star Wars fan here... I walked out with 30 minutes left in the film. I loved the visual effects. The effect were out of this world amazing. The movie was just a god-awful movie. It completely botched every opportunity it had to be good. The first 30 minutes I was engaged. After that I was longing for the movie to end and the torture to stop. Rey’s parent reveal didn’t pay off any of the foreshadowing from previous films. Things were just made cannon that disregard laws of the force in previous films. Palpatine was never explained, explored, or developed as a character. This was a lazy story board hack job of a film full of plot holes, unexplained motives and under developed characters. Kylo and Rey’s story line fell flat and the direction took liberties it has no right to take with the Skywalker legacy. I’m cancelling Disney+ in protest of this film.
