I’m surprised by the amount of people who don’t understand that not every book needs to be full of cute, positive characters that make ‘mistakes’ and quickly apologize for them. Sometimes books are about people who are the WORST. It’s not about idolizing them or wishing to be them, it’s about studying their character and figuring out what COULD lead someone to act in such a way. These books are often times messy and aren’t meant to be a cute ‘summer read’. It’s meant to be regarded more like watching a car crash from a helicopter. If you like works of introspection and diving into multiple character perspectives that leave you wondering ‘who are they really?’ as you sort out a murder mystery, this one is for you.
