Great graphics and animations, atmosphere is decent too but that’s all the positives I have to say about it.
The story and it’s characters are bland and forgettable, art style is generic to the point you could be forgiven for mistaking a screenshot of it for one of the futuristic call of duty’s.
Combat is clunky and not fun, like it was designed for 1 on 1 scenarios against slower enemies, this being said you’ll often be overwhelmed by 3-4 enemies at a time and they all move FAST as well as taking a lot of hits to finish off.
Guns do not feel good to use feeling weak and fragile and the ‘boss’ encounters are literally just the same 2 bosses repeated, 4 for one and 2 for the other.
As for performance, on day one it crashed on me 5 times and there was constant stuttering and audio popping throughout the entire game, though these issues will probably get patched out in later updates.
I think I am also partly to blame as knowing that the team were that created this game also created the first Dead Space game I had high expectations.
To summarise: mashed potatoes in game form.
