I’d give it 1.5 stars if I could. I appreciate JJ Abrams trying to save the trilogy and retcon the horrible mistakes of TLJ. However, short of them doing an extra movie this movie was destined to fall short of expectation and goals. Three major acts that fail individually and collectively. The overarching reason being the failure from the head of LucasFilm (Kathleen Kennedy) to secure a cohesive storytelling experience BEFORE any production of the new movies started and then making sure that vision was followed. JJ Abrams should have just made all three movies they way him and Lucas wanted which would have secured a coherent story for the entire arc of these new movies. It went from a promising rehashing of A New Hope in TFA to the disaster of TLJ to end up in a this movie that reads and watches like really bad fan fiction. Kathleen Kennedy needs to go.
