Netflix’s The Perfect Couple delivers an engaging whodunit set against the breathtaking backdrop of Nantucket. Based on Elin Hilderbrand’s novel, the series follows Amelia Sacks (Eve Hewson) as she navigates secrets and scandals leading up to her wedding. But when tragedy strikes, everyone in the wealthy Winbury family becomes a suspect.
The show boasts strong performances, particularly from Nicole Kidman as the icy matriarch, and Dakota Fanning in a compelling supporting role. The lush cinematography enhances the tension, making every secret feel grand and dramatic.
However, The Perfect Couple has its flaws. Some police investigation scenes stretch believability—characters seem to incriminate themselves too conveniently, and certain forensic details feel rushed or unrealistic. The plot also leans heavily on familiar eat-the-rich themes seen in Knives Out and The White Lotus, making some twists predictable. Despite these drawbacks, the mix of romance, scandal, and mystery keeps it entertaining.
If you enjoy high-society intrigue with a few bumps along the way, The Perfect Couple is worth a watch.
