I’m binging the series and love it. I don’t get why some of the reviewers are being so nasty about it. The plot is straightforward and fun; the production values are absolutely incredible — on a par with anything on HBO or on the big screen. It reminds me of what I’ve loved about The Knick and Sherlock Holmes.
All of the acting talent is first rate, from Chernobyl’s Jared Harris on. And the chemistry between Orlando Bloom and Carla DeVigne is like nitroglycerin.
I think a lot of critics miss GOT and are in the mood to contrast any new show against it negatively. This show isn’t trying to be GOT and doesn’t have much in common with it. And so far, it’s better than a lot of GOT seasons. Have we really forgotten what a train wreck that finale season was?
I’m halfway through in one day, and already hoping for Season 2.
