The backdrop of what really happened in the post war of 1946 in Italy was a real eye-opener to me. The emotion in the screenplay along with the actors and actresses, made the whole story come together in a poetic and just representation of what the suffering was for these young children. To be separated from their parents, even for a short time must’ve had its challenges in their children’s minds whether or not they would see their parents again. They put a lot of emotions to the screen, as well as to me as a viewer. I watched it with the English version, but I will do it again in the native Italian tongue as there is always more emotion behind their language.Moto Bene.
