Tian Guan Ci Fu is by far one of my top three reads/ watches. The novels paint a wonderful picture weaving many deep emotions. From some of the deepest suffering I've heard, to pure, inexplicable joy. The donghua has a bit of a simpler art style compared to something like Mo Dao Zu Shi, but it doesn't take away from the elegance and dedication to every detail in the least. The manhua is a must read, STARember's illustrations are absolutely stunning. Most of the flirting between the main couple is able to get past Chinese censorship in the animated series and it is the most precious thing I have ever seen. MXTX created so many small details that add layer after layer to the main couple's relationship. Absolutely none of the romance part takes away from the central plot, it has amazing plot twists and a well-layered storyline. Murphy's Law? More like MXTX Covenant. The amount of hardships each character goes through is unbelievable, which only makes the the happy ending that much more heart-warming. Apart from some of the more explicit violence, the novels, manhua, and donghua is appropriate for older children and adults alike.
