Just because the screen writer couldn’t figure out how to translate the authors story, doesn’t give them license to just make things up. A failure in screen writing and a mess in story telling as a result. The tone, tension, conflict, regret and redemption are all lost. Beautiful cinematography doesn’t make a beautiful movie. Skip the film, read the book.
