Definitely worth the hype, not only a great Superman movie, but genuinely great movie. Pacing, cinematography, soundtrack, acting, writing, characters all peak.
Truly so many beautiful scenes, so many times when I thought, "I want that on my wall".
The casting and acting were all perfect and truly embodied these characters like never before, especially Superman.
I was scared when James Gunn said that they were not going to make Superman a truly invincible god, but to make him overcome pain, but they really made it make sense. They didn't make him needlessly weak. He is the strongest hero on earth and they showed it, there's only one person in the movie that he truly contends with and it makes sense. So he does feel pain, not just physical but emotional in an interesting way.
But the point of the other heroes are to show that he is not the first and only one, the world already has heroes, and to show how he doesnt only inspire hope in everyday ppl, but the heroes as well. They dont take part in most of the plot, so it definitely doesnt feel bloated or like a team-up like i was worried about. Their point is they would not have taken the actions they took at the very end of the movie, which were extremely important if they weren't inspired by Superman.
Truly embodies hope. I looked up and saw Superman.
