Just to start I appreciate that they are making more movies pertaining to GWOT. I was on the outskirts of Ramadi during this time that it took place. The movie was just okay. The intro was accurate, the placement of certain gear such as the tourniquet was good, the interpreter that was blown in half with other body parts was accurate (in the way the bodies looked after an IED strike); and the buildings looked accurate. On the downside to the film there was usually lots of garbage laying around and the streets weren’t as clean as it showed. When an IED goes off it doesn’t look like a bunch flares; most guys that were hit usually weren’t screaming since they were in shock; there was usually a larger QRF (Quick Reaction Force) when in contact although they may have been spread thin. Terrible situation that they were involved in; had to go through; and the loss of some phenomenal warfighters. I was never a SEAL so I can’t speak to the accuracy of what they portrayed in their tactics and procedures but there was a lot that I didn’t see as accurate that we did as Infantry Marines. I’m sure it’s a very accurate interpretation of what those guys went through in that quick frame of war, but I don’t think I would watch it again. The ending remembrance was nice to have on there.
