The acting of Ranbir Kapoor Vicky Kaushal and Paresh Rawal are top notch. But the harsh reality of this movie is that is was made to white wash Sanjay Dutt's image. In the movie it shown he starts taking drugs because of his friends, mother illness, and girlfriend getting married, but in reality Dutt has spoken proudly about him taking drugs when he was in school. The movie is all about an character being shown as an victim of circumstance, he even spoke about those gun's that lead to his arrest, he said that he always had an love for gun's and when he got those gun's he found them sexy and wanted them. His father's support is true, but this was Raju Hirani's weakest movie and an great way to white wash someone's image.

I really like this movie, its just an story about an normal boy who one day meets an beautiful girl and is ready to do what ever he can to have her. I know many will say he is stalking her and obsessed with her, but Amar is an representation of how an normal person is when they first time experience love. Manisha Koirala's beauty is unmatchable, I don't blame Amar for being crazy about her. The songs are beautiful, and one the best of AR Rehman's work. Dil se, is after Amar declares his love for Meghna, and asks her hand in marriage ( he doesn't say it, but says that if she doesn't tell her family he will indicating that he wants to marry her). In the song Meghan is seen running away from Army officers, and Amar holds her hand and starts running with her. That's how the story of the movie is, she was raped by Army officer, she is trying to run away from her past, and Amar in the movie comes and changes her from being an cold hearted women to someone declearing her love for folk music, her mothers hand, and temple birds, he takes her to an different world from being an terrorist to just an normal girl with dreams of an beautiful life. The swings burning in the song, indicates her childhood being burned out, the breaking of the bangles, hair strings, and pearls are an indication how Amar can never hold on to her, and the bomb blast when Meghna pulls Amar closer, explains how when she finally accepts his love, the bomb blast kills them. The song Ae Ajnabi, is them communicating with each other, without being with each other, her turning off and on the radio represents there on and off relationship. When she tells him she wants to have 8 children if they ever get married, she completely for few minute forgets about her past and just becomes like an normal lover planning her future. Its an beautiful movie, and the best we could have asked for.
