Enjoy it for what it is: Great acting. Amazing sets. And a story line that pulls the entire family in to Middle Earth again. Only hardcore LoR/Tolkien fans may throw stones that the “timeline is off slightly” or that a specific character is portrayed slightly different than deep literature. I for one like the way Galadriel is portrayed: young, fierce, and driven by loss. Lots of room for development over an elvish lifetime to become who she is in LOR.
Bottom line: Hardcore Tolkien fans need to stop hating before you ruin it. We know the best oks are better. Yes, this is an adaptation. You’re dragging down the reviews and likely to ruin it for the other 90% that are really enjoying it.
