I have to say, this was dissapointing.
It was pretty fun for finishing the game for the first time but to get 100%? Good luck, for 100% I started at the first area: the woods, and I found myself lost for 30 minutes of going trough every tree with my hammer, and there isn´t a faster way to travel than having to walk about 5 minutes to the other side of the woods for a block with 10 coins.
Fighting:
The battling system is very original but it gets really annoying if you´re going to walk 10 minutes straight and having to focus to not trigger a fight that takes forever to get away from.
Graphics:
Yeah, the graphics look good but color splash has shadows who actually look good. I don´t know why nintendo made them worse? Limitations on the switch? Might be, but they don´t care about the framerate of the vellumental (probably spelled wrong) for some reason.
SPOILERS
Story:
Not very exiting.
So Olivia her brother became corrupt and tried to fold living paper creatures into origami.
Is there much more?
Bobby´s story was sad and more exiting even!
And like always, at the end the companion must die in order to save everyone.
Just the same as color splash and sticker star! (I have not played any other paper mario games)
Bosses:
Just dissapointing.
Siccors, rubber bands, pencils, tape... you name it, its all just avoiding some tiles, hitting one side with the thousand-fold arms and repeat.
The most variety is at the vellumentals, mostly because they are actually creature-like.
Overall nintendo really made a really boring and bland game.
I recommend playing my personal favorite: color splash.
