I have always loved books by Michael Connelly, and the excellent TV series on Bosch.
Ballard does not disappoint..The stories are compelling, the characters act and look like real people.
There are also a sprinkling of characters from the Bosch series,(although not enough of Bosch himelf)....
Hoping a second season becomes a reality...
