Utter swill. That it’s mildly entertaining and mysterious doesn’t matter an iota in the face of the fact that the story just doesn’t make sense. How were the books ever popular if they’re the basis for this? You mean to tell me there’s a race of aliens who can create a hyper-hyper-realistic video game, travel intergalactically, AND create a sentient computer the size of a proton…but can’t solve the 3 body problem, and has to travel for 400 years to conquer a planet instead of finding (or terraforming) a habitable one that’s closer? I don’t think so. What a joke.
