Even with Gladiator 1 there were scenes that i wished could have been done differently. the last fight was good but it could have ended with a bang. Obviously there is a certain way that we felt when we watched it and the actual cause for that is simple, " Maximus was wronged and needed revenge" .so my point is ,All movies with this story line are generally Good. honestly that is why people think it was so great . but i feel people are letting that feeling cloud their judgement ,making eveyone feel like Gladiator 1 was so perfect. Gladiator 2 is good and it does give you feeling that it is a sequel. Gen Z has influenced a lot of things and think this movie is great and fits the times.
