She is an amazing designer. I loved learning that she planned for and collected items for her dream home for literally years prior to the actual purchase and renovation. I am happy to have witnessed the finished masterpiece through her show and I give the series 5 stars. The caveat is that the rating is 3 stars to her for her vision, design and forethought of her guest’s experience and comfort at the villa. However, the balance of the rating is only achieved by the execution & hard work of her vision by the extremely capable direction of her design partner, Michael Murray, and that of the incredible tradesmen and artisans he personally chose & trusted to undertake such a difficult task. He did all of this with a language barrier no less! It was truly amazing that she never singled him out at the reveal or any other time to say a simple “Thank you, I see you”, or any other nicety as a sort of long overdue & much deserved “well done”. Perhaps she should watch the show again on that perfectly proportioned flat screen in the couple’s media room to fully grasp the level of concern, anxiety, and heartfelt woe Michael encountered on a daily basis when the challenges mounted due to such a tight time frame. So many episodes relayed that his only real concern was a deep desire to not break Rachael’s heart by not meeting her expectations! His entire being was for that work and for making her happy & she ripped him to shreds on the regular. It takes a special person to oversee others and still get an expected outcome, through kindness and encouragement, even when you are somewhat disappointed. Michael has those skills Ms. Ray, perhaps you might learn diplomacy and integrity from him.
