This is a completely underrated album. The only misfire is Disco Apocalypse. It’s too bad Rolling Stone basically dismissed this entire album on release. The song Hold On Hold Out is an epic masterpiece. All the other songs also have beautiful melodies. At times, Browne is at the highest part of his range and barely reaches or it’s perfectly imperfect. It’s so authentic. Of Missing Persons is an ode to a deceased friend and is just simply beautiful.
