I enjoyed the movie but what struck me was not the performers who were there but those that were not. Stevie Wonder, Gladys Night, Sly and the Stone, 5thDimension, etc. were all young and were there because they all had recent hits but most of top black stars from that time were not there like James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Aretha, Supremes, Smokey, etc. Just seemed to me that the only top name black stars that came out were the gospel singers with Mahalia Jackson, Staple Singers, etc. I would have expected more of the established black performers of that time to be there but again, it was a good movie. Wonder how many people recognized Redd Foxx in that brief cameo?
