Stuck in a hotel near Heathrow after a missed flight, I stumbled onto this hit staple of American network TV. With nothing more promising available, I watched the latest episode. I could not believe that such mindless drivel has survived for 11 seasons. Comic book characters offered as Caltech physicists? What a preposterous premise. Jokes that were stale before the grandparents of these actors were even born? And the sexism! And the racism! I could go on, but you get the drift.

This is a very confused movie, a contrived mishmash of extreme violence, misogyny, and fatuous political commentary. Some fine actors' performances were wasted in this dreadful opus. The direction was laughably inconsistent in its attempt to combine grim realism with would-be “artful” slow motion papering over of violence. An utter waste of time.
