Was it feel-good? Somewhat... what is dragging? Yes, a lot.
Dhyan did a really good job and he deserves better roles in the industry. I felt this was one of the strengths of the film. He handled humor and drama with finesse.
I personally was scrutinising everything that Pranav did because, you can't help but compare him and Mohanlal. For Pranav, the bar has been set too high by his dad. Some scenes that Pranav did felt too forced and unoriginal, especially his intro scenes. He is trying to be this funny drunk guy without a care in the world, but the jokes fell flat. Vineeth could have avoided some of these charater traits and focused more on the strengths of Pranav's acting. I felt that Pranav could handle emotional scenes much better than humorous ones. But he did great in the second half.
Unpopular opinion: Nivin was quite over the top. I mean some of the funny scenes hit the spot but other than that, he could have toned it down a bit.
Script could have been improved a lot. There was too much of aesthetics in the first galf and too much background score, but this could not compensate for the lagging screenplay.
That extra something that is usually found in Vineeth's movies was missing from this one.
