As a pilot in real life and simulator junkie, I have mixed feelings on this one. I've been using MSFS since 98 and XPlane during the period of time that Microsoft dropped the product. What I loved about the older versions is that they tried to live up to the "as real as it gets". XPlane went a step further and had very nuanced and highly realistic system controls.
Going back to MSFS 2020, the world they created is hyper realistic and beyond superb. However, I was disappointed to find that I couldn't control many of the systems I came accustomed to in XPlane. Microsoft missed the mark with cold starts realism/system configuration. There are also a few bugs/missing feature in the Garmin systems and advanced aircraft FMS.
I'm hoping they continue to build on this to address the pilot community needs. It's definitely amazing for the novice and sight seeing, but I'll stick to technical stuff with XPlane.
