Ibsy is an Omar Sharif like charming man with an eternally unaging grace in the book, with thick hair. He is a bald old guy in the movie. Bogdan is a tall white Polish guy, head shaved, grave, serious, able to do harm but with a strong moral compass who is correct & strong. Absolutely changed his entire image in tje movie. Plus his whole motivation and plot line is changed. Priest sub plot totally removed. Wired passport plot added. I can go on and on. The magic of the characters is completely lost. I loved the book and Absolutely hated the movie.
