I just watched a segment on TV about an artist who is claiming he introduced "Rap" to the masses. I guess he is trying to cash in on being the father of Rap. Not so, take for instance the album "Overnight Sensation". If Frank ain't Rapping, then I'm a "Monkey's Uncle".
Yes I know Frank Zappa set the bar for so many styles of music and maybe I should let this slide. Not, Frank Zappa was a genius and deserves all the credit he can get, post mortem mind you.
I hope this causes a stir or wave of contriversy. Hands down he introduced "RAP" before RAP was considered RAP. He was so wild and different and lays claim to roots in "ROCK", "COUNTRY", "CLASSICAL", "R&B", "POLKA", "BLUES", etc. You name it, he played it and slayed it.
